My love of purple did not begin with a trend. It began with the women in my family.
My grandmother loved purple. My mother loved purple. What makes that connection even more remarkable is that my mother never knew her mother shared that same love for the color until she was an adult.
My grandmother passed away when my mother was very young, leaving behind memories, stories, and pieces of herself that my mother would spend a lifetime discovering.
And somehow, purple became one of those beautiful threads connecting them.
Two women, separated by loss and time, connected by a color they both loved. And eventually, that color found me.
When I was expecting my first daughter, my mother and I found ourselves searching for purple everything — surrounding that season of our lives in purple — creating an atmosphere filled with beauty, softness, meaning, and continuity. It became one of the deeply shared experiences we had before she passed, and one that I will always hold close to my heart. I didn’t know then just how precious those moments would become.
Today, purple carries those memories forward.
